I'm not playing your game anymore

 Having just spent a 2 weeks in France I have returned to the not so pleasant green land of England.

I really dont understand why all these immigrants want to come here.  

Comparing France to England -  I think I will get on the dinghy and make my way to France.

Firstly having driven 800 miles I didnt see any rubbish by the sides of the motorway - I saw more rubbish in the UK in the first mile than the whole of France.  Even driving through Paris there was hardly any rubbish.

Dont even get me started on pot holes.

I then come back to news that Labour is passing laws and the Sentencing Council will soon give harsher penalties to white, straight men than black transexuals....

Wasnt Britain supposed to be the land of fairness and equality  with the rule of law which is why all the immigrants are flocking here?

Being cynical - maybe black transexuals vote Labour and white straight men dont so why not force people like me out.

I then see news articles where judges are ruling against section 21 evictions - hang on these are straight forward no fault evictions which should take 6 - 8 weeks.  I felt sorry for the landlord in question.  The incompetent judge didnt know the law and ruled against him.  So the landlord had to pay another £300 to represent the case and educate the judge. The judge admitted fault so the landlord asked for a refund.  The judged said it wasnt the tenants fault and that he would have to pay another £300 in order to recover the £300 he didnt need to pay.....Apparently the rubbish legal system - which was supposed to be the pride of Britain -  is biased, incompetent and slow.  Section 21 evictions are taking between 30 and 40 weeks.  The landlord in question chose the section 21 route because it is faster than section 8 as the tenant was not paying.  These massive delays and legal fees cost him £30k as a direct consequence of the legal system incompetence. The legal system is not fair - it's basically a weapon against the innocent and non guilty.

So much for the 6 - 8 weeks. If the law courts were a business I would be suing it for consequential damages - but it's an incompetent organisation with no accountability.

Pretty much says it all about the state of Britain - it's time to leave. I am no longer proud of my country.

Les miserables - Labour's misery

 If I cast my mind back to 1997, Tony Blair entered government to  fanfare of positivity.  His adopted anthem of D:Ream Things Can Only Get Better echoing through the corridors of power. Tony was always positive, smiling.  I can't say I remember him fondly.  I'm still spitting feathers over Tony's then Chancellor Gordon Brown stealing £60k from my pension claiming I was the subject to pensions windfall tax for holding BT shares - annoying as BT was our biggest customer hence the company pension fund bought into BT.  Still at least Tony was smiling when he stole it from me.  Not once did he call me greedy. Landlord EPC's part 2

Following on from the previous blog about the stupidity of  Labours EPC #C plans , I thought I would do a little more digging into EPCs. To start with I thought about doing an EPC assessor course. Prices are about £1,000+VAT for an on-line (not taught) course.  Pretty steep. I also looked into whether there's an on-line points calculator - the problem is you have to take the EPC report  as gospel and can't challenge it. If you do a quick search on-line you find horror stories where a property was C.  Then the EPC expired requiring a new EPC and the new assessor scored the property "D" - WORSE !!! The problem is EPC scoring is not transparent - you are in the hands of someone that did an on-line course for 3 days.  Has not got a degree in building science and will guess or assume the worst. The EPC assessors must think we are stupid and won't ask questions.... So in short who knows what the real EPCs of my buildings are. You can't discuss things with an EPC ass...
