JD Vance still loves Britain

 The US and JD Vance have commented about the murder of Henry Nowak.

Clearly the UK police are more scared of being considered racist than they are about doing their jobs. That is quite evident and therefore Vance's comments seem justified.

JD Vance's comments come from a place of concern that equality and fairness - the bastians of Britishness - are being eroded. 

However Starmer's response is that this is political interference.  I certainly don't consider this political interference.  If it is then Starmer is a hypocrite. On the 3 June 2020 he said that  George Floyd's  murder exposed racism in the USA and he was surprised Boris had not confronted Trump on it. Later in June 2020, Starmer and Rayner said "We are appalled by the response of President Trump and the failure of our own government to condemn his actions in the wake of George Floyd’s killing".

So therefore Starmer must have been politically interfering in the USA in 2020.

Certainly in 2024 Starmer sent 100 people to the USA to assist with Kamala Harris' election campaign.  This resulted in the Federal Election Commission in Washington seeking an immediate investigation into a "blatant foreign interference". Now that was absolutely Starmer interfering in USA politics.

Starmer has also been vocal about the Nowak murder that this should not be politicised yet he is politicising it.....

As a lawyer you would think he would carefully consider Vance's perspective before responding.....

On Sunday Calamity Lammy was being interviewed by Trevor Phillips who challenged Lammy on his and Starmer's behaviour on the George Floyd murder in 2020.  His response was that "when you're on the backbenches or in opposition, you're free, frankly, to reflect on anything"...

Hmmm.  So why was Lammy and Starmer allowed to be vocal but when an opposition back bencher like Farage raises his concerns about the outrageous treatment of a murder victim that he's "inciting hatred".

Two Tier Labour at its best.

A final comment on Equality (whatever that means nowadays).  Vickrum Digwas was sentenced to 21 years for the murder of Nowak.  In another recent case it became apparent that Andrew Malkinson was sentenced to 6 years in prison in 2003 for rape.  It turned out that he was innocent.  He ended up serving 17 years in prison simply because he refused to admit he was guilty.....So much for fair treatment by the law.  The real rapist from 2003 has been identified and has now been sentenced to 24 years in prison. 

I'm not downplaying rape as a crime but how come a rapist gets 24 years in prison but a murderer only gets 21 years in prison? If the rapist murdered his victim after raping her, he would have got 3 years less in prison.  What a bizarre system we have.

When people protest in Southampton about white racism by the police which is to quote the Greens "... doing it [protesting] because the normal processes of democratic accountability are failing them"  they are labelled right wing extremists and are quickly sent to jail  for 2 year terms via Kangaroo courts yet when the left protest it is a "cry for help from the oppressed" and it's simply tolerated.

 The rumour mill is that Rachel is considering introducing National Insurance on rental income. How ironic! For as long as I can remember, the government and HMRC stance is that rental income is not earned income and therefore it has consequences in how it is taxed and treated. Energy Performance of Privately Rent Properties - expect crazy things as we approach 2028

 The wonderful Labour government has very generously given private Landlords until 2030 to improve the energy performance of rental properties to an EPC of C for incumbent tenants.  For new tenants they need to achieve this by 2028. I agree with the idea of energy efficiency in the home but it needs to be economically viable. Ignoring the fact that the EPC scoring system  is a work of fiction (for example installing triple glazed windows doesnt improve scores) I thought it would be interesting to work through the financial side of the EPC targets.  Social and council tenants currently do not have EPC targets of E (the current minimum for private landlords) although Labour seem to be suggesting that there won't be a 2 Tier system and that council and social landlords will also have to achieve C by 2030 (previously it was 2050 to achieve E). Rayner's attack on Landlords. TIme to rebalance the relationship in favour of Landlords.

 Exit anti-Landlord Conservative - only to be replaced by the very anti-Landlord Labour.  Government attacks on Landlords are set to continue. This feels like this Zombie attack cannot die. Angela Rayner makes unqualified statements about their forthcoming equivalent to the Renter Reform Bill such as “rebalance the relationship between tenant and landlord.".   Really? The law favours the Tenant way more than the Landlord.
