Should I stay or should I go (If I stay there will be trouble)

The Clash lyrics seem to capture the current situation in the UK. Should I stay or should I go?

We have an exodus of the wealthy fleeing the UK fearing  that their wealth will be confiscated by the Labour party. Off they go to Italy, Dubai where their money is appreciated.

So much for Starmer and his alledged Human Rights legal experience.  The Human Right's Act states: "The state cannot interfere with your peaceful enjoyment of your possessions without a valid, lawful reason" nor "You cannot be deprived of your possessions unless it is for the public interest and is provided for by law".  Speculation is that Rachel is about to effectively change FREEHOLD property into LEASEHOLD property with the introduction of mansion taxes. Given the threshold for a "Mansion" is the price of a London flat it seems the barrier for State theft is getting pretty low.

So I am on the page that it's time to flee the UK.  I wouldn't consider myself wealthy but when the real wealthy have already fled and are no longer here, the State will be coming for me next as I float to the top of the wealthy list.

It's with this in mind that I was interested to watch a debate on GB News last night.  Labour peer Lord Maurice Glasman (one of the few Labourites that has a brain and I have respect for) was saying people should not be fleeing the UK but should be staying and fighting to stop Britain's decline (implying he didnt agree with what Rachel is doing).  Very admirable Maurice ! Far  more motivating that anything that has come out of 2TK's lips.

My advice to my children for the last few years (before Labour) was to leave and live in a country where they are appreciated and treated fairly.  Britain's social contract is well and truly broken.

So my dilemma is do I leave and watch Titanic Britain sink  into the icy depths whilst Starmer and Reeves play music on the deck or do I fight?  As an individual I am powerless to fight this unless I become Prime Minister or I become the next Elon Musk.  Can I be bothered to be PM when I could be drinking beer somewhere warm?

The problem is government is now full of anti-talent.  If you consider the adult population of the UK using the Pareto princple, 20% add value to the country, 60% are neutral and 20% detract value from the country.  Right now 80% of  all government and the civil service seems to fall into the bottom energy sucking 20%. God it must be torture for the good 20% that have any talent.  I can sympathise with Dominic Cummings's request for "weirdos and misfits" to be in government - he must have felt the struggle with the inertia exerted by the wall of anti-talent and was desperate for some disruptors.

So if I became prime minister it would be an uphill struggle against the anti-talent infested government. My life would become a permanent episode of Yes Minister. Great comedy but totally frustrating. Still it hasnt stopped me thinking about the option of becoming Prime Minister.

Time to leave.  Maybe I can seek asylum somewhere claiming violation of my Human Rights at the hands of the UK government.
